The Smithsonian Institution sold the above orchid note cards in their gift shop during their 13th annual Orchid exhibit from January 27th through April 22nd, 2007. The note cards in this collection were available only by visiting the gift shop at the exhibit in the Smithsonian Institution, or by purchasing them here on this web site. That exhibit is now over, so if you have been waiting to purchase these note cards at a reduced price - now is your chance. Prices throughout this site will be going up soon.
The Smithsonian specifically chose these cards to match the color scheme for their Orchid exhibit, and the back of each card contains a brief description of the Orchid shown growing in the photograph (all orchids photographed are growing in our collection). Each card is a 4"x6" orchid photograph that is mounted on a blank greeting card and is wrapped separately in a clear plastic sleeve to protect it from dust and fingerprints (sample note card here). A mailing envelope is included with each card so it is ready for you to drop in the mail to a friend with a personal greeting.
These cards are hand-made, and are duplicates of the cards that were chosen by the Smithsonian Institution to sell in their gift shop. Shipping and handling details here.
